What your gift will mean…

Les Cheneaux Culinary School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, whose mission is to not only provide its students with a unique, affordable education in farm-to-table culinary arts with rewarding career opportunities, but to benefit the Eastern Upper Peninsula community of sustainable agriculture. No matter what amount, your gift will be much appreciated as a statement of support, and thus appropriately recognized and utilized.

It also can be as a Memorial or Honorarium for a person or an event, an anniversary or milestone. As a Bequest in the form of cash, securities, real estate, or other assets, to reduce the size of your taxable estate to reduce state and federal death taxes. Or through Retirement Plan Assets such as 401(k)s, 403(b)s and IRAs, which may be subject to high tax rates, which make them ideal for charitable giving.

It is your choice as to where you would like to see your gift utilized, such as restaurant equipment or general operations or the general scholarship fund or named scholarships.

Currently, the latter are:
Gordon Foods Services Scholarship, Kerri Ann Mertaugh Scholarship, Bonnie Stewart Mickelson Scholarship, Kenneth Lee Pendery, Jr. Scholarship, Lesa Bruning Hester Scholarship, Shelli Arnold Scholarship, Henry Clay Wisner Scholarship, Yesterdog Scholarship.

And last but equally important, your gift can be a year-to-year membership in the Les Cheneaux Culinary Club at $1,000 or as a Life Membership at $5,000.

Matching gifts are welcomed. As a 501(c)(3), Les Cheneaux Culinary School pays no taxes on your gift, allowing your entire gift to support our work.

∗Please note: Les Cheneaux Culinary Club memberships are not tax-deductible, as they include a 10% discount to the Les Cheneaux Culinary School Restaurant. Because members receive goods and services in return, the membership does not qualify as a charitable donation.
